DR Congo: what results after two months of state of siege in North Kivu?

In Goma and its region, abuses by armed gangs, rapes and other villainous kidnappings are still raging. To put an end to insecurity, Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi established, on May 6, 2021, a state of siege in Ituri and North Kivu, two provinces in the east of the country. Will the state of siege be able to restore peace in these regions where so far neither the Congolese army nor the UN missions have succeeded in overcoming the rebel groups?
