Ukraine, Italy and 36 other countries: “No sporting events in Russia and Belarus”

Thirty-seven countries, including Italy, said in a joint statement that Russia and Belarus “must not be authorized, nor be able to apply to host international sporting events” following the military aggression of Ukraine. The declaration condemns the “unjustified war of Russia against Ukraine, allowed by the Belarusian government”, defined as a “repugnant and flagrant violation of its international obligations.
