China sees a solution in the negotiations and does not agree with sanctions.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang I said in an interview with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that China was opposed to any steps that “add fuel to the fire” in Ukraine. Blinken responded that the world was watching which nations advocated the principles of freedom and sovereignty. TASR received the report from AP.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the statesmen spoke to each other on Saturday.

Wang called for the immediate crisis to be addressed in the negotiations, as well as for talks on establishing a balanced European security mechanism. Wang stressed that the US and Europe should pay attention to the negative impact of NATO’s expansion eastward on Russia’s security.

According to the US State Department, Blinken stressed that the world is acting in unison in response to the Russian aggression and assured that Moscow will pay a high price.

China does not agree with the sanctions imposed on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine. He argues that while the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations should be respected, sanctions create new problems and disrupt the political settlement process.
