A crazy start to the match, then a big drop in intensity. Lille gradually stopped playing after Bamba’s opener, and that’s a shame because the two teams were never down at the same time. Man of the match: Renato Sanches (8/10)

As against Chelsea, Renato Sanches showed that he was the best player in this Lille team. The Portuguese once again made his class speak in midfield as the origin of most northern offensives. With, of course, this love of a millimeter center for Bamba’s winning header, or even this sublime madjer on David’s goal. It is also he who causes the second yellow card of Abdul Samed, synonymous with expulsion. Replace the 83rd minute with Amadou Onana (no not)involved on Celik’s goal.

LILLE :

Lo Jardim (6): with only one short stop on the single strike framed by the Clermontois, Jardim had a relatively quiet match today.

Mehmet elik (7.5): a big performance from the right side. Impeccable defensively and how dangerous offensively, Celik is involved in the realization of David with a clever deflection. It was also he who finally put an end to the suspense by scoring the 3-0 goal, in force.

Jos Fonte (7): whether in the duels or the raise, Fonte made a boss match. One again. When his team began to suffer, he was able to bring calm to the ranks of Lille.

Sven Botman (7): like Fonte, Botman has almost never been faulted by the Clermont forwards, and he has rarely made a mistake in the recovery.

Tiago Djal (6): a serious match for the versatile defender, who contained Da Cunha rather well. But when Clermont proved dangerous, it often came from his side.

Jonathan Bamba (5.5): a headed goal, 49 games and more than a year after his last achievement with LOSC, then… almost nothing. Bamba nevertheless had interesting situations to play, but he often made the wrong choices. Replace the 88th minute with Angel Gomes (no not).

Jonathan David (7): The expulsion of Abdul Samed, and the spaces that opened up afterwards, helped him a lot. Because David spent the first 70 rather painful minutes against the Clermontois. Often lonely 11 against 11, the Canadian then took advantage of the numerical superiority of his team to unlock his counter in 2022. note, also, his participation in the first goal. Replace the 82nd minute with Edon Zhegrova (not not)author of the last Lille goal on a strike deflected by a defender.

Hatem Ben Arfa (5): HBA, rather generous in effort and available to his teammates, had an interesting first period. But during the second act, he quickly took the hit physically. Replace 73rd minute with Burak Yilmaz (not not).

CLERMONT F. :

Akim Zedadka (4): his careless error, with this bad placement on Bamba’s goal, cost the Clermontois dearly. Zedadka then tried to catch up with an excellent cross for Kyei, but the latter failed to catch the target.

Cdric Hountondji (5): if we hide this disastrous end to the CF63 match, Hountondji resisted rather well against David for 70 minutes. But when the boat started to sink, the central defender was unable to straighten the bar.

Alidu Seidu (3): a game to forget for Seidu, who misses his recovery on Lille’s first goal. It was also he who lost the ball which André almost took advantage of to make the break. Replace the 82nd minute with Jean-Claude Billong (not).

Vital N’Simba (4): rather interesting in getting the ball out, N’Simba also cost his team a goal with this misalignment on David’s goal, because he is the one who puts Sanches back into play.

Salis Abdul Samed (3): after his two missed volleys, Abdul Samed took an avoidable yellow card at the end of the first period. And he would have done better to remain calm, since the second received 20 minutes from time definitively put an end to the hopes of the CF63.

Johan Gastien (4): impressive Marseille two weeks ago, Gastien failed to repeat the same performance against LOSC. In the second period, he took on water after the exclusion of Abdul Samed.

Lucas Da Cunha (4): Da Cunha certainly managed to cause Djalo problems, but he rarely worried Jardim. He could have done it once, from a free kick, but his shot flew into the stands. Replace 73rd minute with Yohann Magnin (not not).

Jason Berthomier (5): the main danger on the Clermont side. Especially on set pieces, always with this left-handed precision, which forced Jardim to relax in the first period. Replace the 64th minute with Saf-Eddine Khaoui (not not).

Elbasan Rashani (4): Like his attacking teammates, Rashani had few interesting balls to negotiate today. On Lille’s first goal, the fault for the loss of the ball is shared between him and Seidu. Replace the 82nd minute with Jodel Dossou (not not).

Grejohn Kyei (4): a frustrating match for Kyei, who failed to make Bayo forget. The Clermont striker had a usable ball headed, but he did not catch the frame at close range. Replace the 82nd minute with Pierre-Yves Hamel (not not).
