(CNN Spanish) – The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office reported the preventive detention of Yoselinne Hoffman Badui, known as “Yosstop” on YouTube and other social networks, suspected of crimes related to child pornography.
The authorities shared videos of Hoffman’s arrest, which occurred on June 29, and of his admission to the Santa Martha Acatitla women’s prison, in the State of Mexico.
On July 5, the authorities will determine whether the woman will be charged with the crime of child pornography. Until then, he will remain in preventive detention, it was reported this Thursday.
“Following an investigation into the possible commission of the crime of pornography, to the detriment of a minor, personnel of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) filled out an arrest warrant against Yoselinne” N ”, says the statement from the Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the Mexican authorities, several lawyers filed a complaint on March 3 against the youtuber, stating that she had acquired, stored, reproduced and publicized a sexual video recording of a minor.
The plaintiff’s lawyers presented as evidence a video entitled “Pathetic Generation” that Yoselinne Hoffman uploaded to YouTube and in which she claims to have another video with sexual content.
CNN contacted the detainee’s lawyers to find out their legal strategy and reactions to the pretrial detention, but has received no response so far.
The complainant’s lawyers told CNN that for the moment there will be no interviews, nor will they give more information beyond what was published on her Twitter account, where they ask for justice for her client.
Yoselinne Hoffman is known as “Yosstop” on YouTube and various social networks. The “influencer” has millions of followers: almost 7 million on Instagram, and 13 million on two YouTube channels. The 30-year-old became popular with comic parody videos. Later, it diversified its content to address current social issues and advocate for the right to freedom of expression.
