Chechnya has joined the attack on Ukraine. The leader of the units has a reputation as a rapist, homophobe and semi-terrorist – REFRESHER

The leader of Chechnya, the autonomous republic of the Russian Federation, Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed today that he would send Chechen troops to Ukraine. Their task is to support the Russian offensive. At the same time, the Chechen leader called on the Ukrainians to overthrow their own government.

Chechen media reported on Friday that Kadyrov had gathered about 12,000 members of the security forces in the center of the capital, Grozny, who then carried out a “readiness check”. His soldiers today, according to Telegraph they also managed to occupy one of the Ukrainian military bases.

In a video released today, RT Ramzan Kadyrov boasted that not a single Chechen had died in military operations in Ukraine. He also mentioned that the occupation of Ukrainian cities by Russian troops takes longer because the army wants to avoid loss of life. “President Putin has gone in the right direction and we will carry out his orders under any conditions.”

Al Jazeera recalls that Ramzan Kadyrov describes himself as a “Putin’s pawn” and that the Chechen army, in cooperation with the Kremlin, has already been involved in military operations in Syria and Georgia.

According to the Chechen news website Chechnya Today, Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed yesterday that Chechen soldiers are determined to take part in “any special operation”. Kadyrov also publicly called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to apologize to Putin.

Ramzan Kadyrov’s reputation is marked by repeated allegations of human rights violations. BBC states that, according to several human rights organizations, Kadyrov is directly involved in the abuse of women, the abduction of political opponents, as well as the torture and persecution of homosexuals.
