“The aim of the declaration of an emergency situation is to create the conditions for taking the necessary measures to prevent and mitigate the consequences of an emergency in connection with the mass influx of aliens into the territory of the Slovak Republic,” states the government cabinet in the material.

Members of the government and chairmen of other central state administration bodies should take civil protection measures for the population. They should also take crisis management measures to avoid endangering life, health and property.

At the same time, the government authorized Prime Minister Eduard Heger and, as Deputy Minister of the Interior and Chairman of the Central Crisis Staff of the Slovak Republic, Roman Mikulec (both OĽANO). They are to manage rescue operations, issue rescue orders and implement crisis management measures.
