Most countries in the world have condemned the move and imposed various sanctions on Russia and its President Vladimir Putin. They talk about an unforgivable step in aggression that will have serious consequences. The fight for the capital Kiev is currently underway in Ukraine. Ukrainians bravely and successfully defend it.

However, with the war, a large-scale hybrid war began on the Internet, in which various interest groups tried to convince people to take the side of Russia. At the same time, they publish various alarming reports and misinformation that scare people. The Minister of Defense Jaroslav Naď (OĽaNO) drew attention to the hoax circulating on social networks. As he explained, information is circulating that the Ministry of Defense is calling in the civilian population as part of the mobilization. According to him, however, these are lies. He urged people not to be subject to them.

“I received a report this morning, apparently a coordinated system of scaring people, that the mobilization of the civilian population is taking place, and that Slovaks are to report to the service, and if they do not, they face heavy penalties. It is a lie.” said Nad. He declared that all security forces would search step by step for the people who triggered the misinformation.

Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽaNO) said that the government would do everything to protect the citizens of the Slovak Republic and security. According to him, Slovakia is under fire from misinformation and lies, as recorded by Slovak intelligence services. “We will not succumb to alarming and false reports. There is nothing to fear, we are part of NATO, the protection is extremely great.” Heger said. According to Naď, the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic increased their combat readiness and readiness only at the border in connection with the arrival of war refugees from Ukraine. They help the police force.

Dozens of soldiers were deployed on the eastern border on Friday (February 25). Hundreds of other soldiers are ready to strike in the nearby barracks of Michalovce, Kamenica nad Cirochou and Trebišov. They are also guarding the green border, Naď said. “Every morning, the police report to us how many people they need. We are ready, we have a mandate of up to 1,500 soldiers. If necessary, we will increase the number.” stated.

The largest sewer of the internet

Police officers, who regularly report hoaxes about the spread of misinformation and hoaxes, have drawn attention to the challenges currently being widely spread by supporters of Russia and President Vladimir Putin. They claim that they broke through the bottom of the days with their views and named them “the largest sewer of the Slovak Internet”. “All findings are dismissed by the appropriate department,” drew attention and published photos of selected calls in which they demand the same step by Russia towards Slovakia.

These are mostly critics of the current government or President Zuzana Čaputová. On the contrary, a certain Jaroslav claimed that “Ukraine has almost had a dirty nuclear bomb and the Russians know why they occupied Chernobyl”. However, there is much more similar misinformation on the Internet.
