Diana, William and Harry together to inaugurate the statue dedicated to the mother

William and Harry, together again for the first time for the inauguration of the statue dedicated to their mother Diana, who today would have turned 60. The Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex had not seen each other since their grandfather Philip’s funeral last April. The statue is located in the Sunken Garden, one of the gardens of Kensington Palace, Diana’s London residence during her years of marriage to Prince Charles. It was commissioned in 2017 by William and Harry themselves, hoping that the statue would make visitors to Kensington Palace reflect on Diana’s “life and legacy”. The brother of the former Princess of Wales, Charles Spencer, was also present at the ceremony. Harry, who lives in the United States alongside his wife Meghan Marklee and their two children, landed in England last week to complete the quarantine period in time for today’s event. Kensington Palace explained that Sunken Garden was “a favorite of the princess”. For the garden, completely redesigned to accommodate the statue, informs the BBC, over 4 thousand flowers have been planted. The opening to the public, which will be free, will take place starting tomorrow, in line with the opening hours of Kensington Palace.
