Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the European Football Union (UEFA) has revoked St. Petersburg’s right to host the Champions League final duel. The match, which will take place on May 28, has been moved to the Stade de France in the suburbs of Paris.

Already on Thursday, after the invasion of Russian troops on Ukraine, several world media reported that UEFA would take away the final LM duel in St. Petersburg. The Union’s executive confirmed the change of venue after the extraordinary meeting on Friday.

UEFA also announced that Russian and Ukrainian clubs and national teams operating in international competitions must play their home matches on neutral ground until further notice. The DPA and AFP reported.
