Bolivia: Arce announces the purchase of six million vaccines from Sinopharm

(Cnn in Spanish) – This Wednesday, the president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, announced during a national chain speech the purchase of a new batch of vaccines from China’s pharmaceutical Sinopharm of six million doses.

Arce explained that it is estimated that a first shipment will arrive on July 10 and later deliveries of one million doses will arrive every ten days.

On the other hand, the president said that in the next few days the first 500,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine will arrive in Bolivia and indicated that the second dose of the Russian vaccine is assured. He said that 400,000 second doses would arrive in the country in August, and in September the remaining 100,000 would arrive to complete the batch of the second dose of Sputnik V.

In addition, Arce said that in the next 15 days 1,008,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccine by means of the Covax mechanism.

The Bolivian president concluded with the announcement that, as of July 1, vaccination in the country is extended to those over 18 years of age
