Ukrainian War, FT: “Renzi resigns as board of the Russian Delimobil”

Matteo Renzi resigned from the board of Delimobil, the largest Russian car-sharing company. The former prime minister, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, sent an email to the company’s board of directors this morning to announce his resignation with immediate effect. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing sources familiar with the affair. Renzi, reports the financial newspaper of the City, did not want to comment on the indiscretion. Delimobil was founded by the Italian entrepreneur Vincenzo Trani, president of the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce. Trani, founder of Delimobil, is also the head of the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, which last month promoted the meeting between Vladimir Putin and some of Italy’s top managers. Demobil was supposed to go public at the end of last year, but the listing was postponed due to ongoing geopolitical tensions. In addition to Renzi’s resignation from the Demobil board, in these hours also those of the former Finnish premier Esko Aho, from the board of the largest Russian bank, Sberbank, in which he was independent director and member of the board of supervisors. “I started the measures to withdraw from the board today,” Aho announced to the Finnish media.
