The then Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajčák, as head of the rotating OSCE presidency, visits the eastern Ukrainian town of Stanica Luhanska – the only point in the Luhansk region located on the so-called contact line through which people from Ukrainian-controlled areas to pro-Russian insurgents can pass.

It was one of several visits by Slovak representatives to the closely monitored line, which has long been one of the priority interests of our diplomats.

And since the official recognition of the independence of the breakaway Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republic by Russian President Vladimir Putin from Monday, the whole world has been looking at it with apprehension.
