VIENNA / BRATISLAVA – Bronze Slovak hockey representatives from the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing will return to Slovakia today on February 22nd. At lunchtime, they planned to land at Swechat Airport in Austria. On the occasion of extraordinary success, the Slovak Ice Hockey Association organized a welcome and subsequent celebrations of winning the historic Olympic medal from the men’s tournament. Before the tour of the convertible bus around Bratislava and the celebrations with fans on SNP Square, defender Martin Marinčin, forward Pavol Regenda and the best goalkeeper of the tournament, Patrik Rybár, also shared their feelings from the 2022 Olympic Games.

The best scorer and the most useful player of the tournament, Juraj Slafkovský, the captain of the national team Marek Hrivík and the forward Peter Cehlárik, also answered the questions of the journalists.

At the beginning, the coach of the Slovak national hockey team Craig Ramsay and the general manager of the national team and the president of SZĽH Miroslav Šatan appeared before the journalists.

Arrival of the hockey team at Schwechat Airport

Fans and journalists were waiting for the arrival of Slovak hockey players from Beijing at noon. They did not appear in the Arrivals Hall until a few minutes after 1 p.m. As announced, there was no time for media interviews, as parked buses were already waiting for them in the parking lot.

In the lobby, the players and head coach Craig Ramsay approached the press and answered a few questions. Even the fans did not leave sad, as the bronze hockey players handed out several signatures.

From the Slovak border, hockey heroes from Beijing also had a police escort.

Hockey players graduate upon arrival in Bratislava press briefing first and after 3.30 pm there will be a tour of the convertible bus with players, which will culminate in celebrations on the stage at Bratislava’s SNP Square.
