The Czech State Security Council will meet on Wednesday in connection with the situation in Ukraine.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic Jana Černochová, who also outlined where Czech soldiers could move within NATO, informs the news station ČT24.

The Ministry of Defense will submit proposals to the State Security Council on how to address the problematic issues in connection with Monday’s decision by Russia to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed republics in eastern Ukraine, Chernochova said after the army command assembly.

The Minister still believes that the crisis in Ukraine will be resolved diplomatically. According to her, Russia has no mandate to dictate to the sovereign states to which they should belong.

“The scenarios were presented during the negotiations of the Ministers of Defense in Brussels. At the moment, we have time with the Chief of General Staff to work out variants of solutions that would be possible from the point of view of the Czech Republic. As soon as we have these variants, we will present them to the Prime Minister, “the minister said.
