As a result of the Ukrainian attack, two civilians allegedly died: Kiev objects – NEW TIME

Two civilians lost their lives on Sunday night in an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on positions in the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) in eastern Ukraine. The TASS agency informs about it with reference to the representative of the local People’s Militia Ivan Filiponenko.

According to him, the Ukrainian army tried to attack in the area of the village of Pionerskoye, as a result of which five residential buildings were destroyed and two civilians died. He also said that “the enemy suffered losses and retreated”.

This is the first announcement by the LPR to the deaths of civilians since the latest escalation in the Donbas conflict. This information has not yet been verified with independent sources, noted the server Meduza.io.

Pro-Russian separatists in two self-proclaimed republics in Donbas accuse Ukraine of preparing a large-scale offensive. In this context, the mass evacuation of women and children to neighboring Russia was announced on 18 February, and a general mobilization a day later.

Kiev claims that it does not plan any offensive and calls the separatist statements the provocation.
