“The wind can, in short gusts, reach speeds of 135-160 kilometers per hour,” meteorologists warn in the issued warning, which will last until Saturday (February 19) afternoon. The warning against a gust of wind in the mountains will gradually be extended to the territory of northwestern and western Slovakia during the night on Saturday. A first degree warning will apply to this area, the wind can reach speeds of 110-135 kilometers per hour on the ridges of the mountains.

Meteorologists in the Bratislava region expect the most serious situation
During the night, a wind warning in the area of southwestern Slovakia will also apply. The most serious situation is expected by meteorologists in the time from 05.00 to 11.00 in the Bratislava region. “We temporarily expect the occurrence of strong winds associated with the passage of the cold front, which will reach a short speed of 85-105 kilometers per hour in gusts,” specifies SHMÚ.
