The release of pandemic measures will begin in Slovakia from the end of February, the prime minister announced Eduard Heger provided that the proposal was based on a recommendation from a panel of experts.

“Covid continues to be present in our lives, but based on the current situation and the knowledge we have today, he will no longer dictate the rules of how we should live,” Heger said. “We have to learn to live with the covid,” he added.

From 28 February, the OTP, OP and OP + regimes will be abolished, ie everything will operate in one mode (base).

At the same time, the home quarantine will be lifted when in contact with a positive student in the class.

Capacities for low and medium risk events will also increase significantly. According to the Prime Minister, a certain release will also take place at high-risk events, such as weddings, kars and parties.

The changes will also affect sports, wellness, fitness and hotels and restaurants. The Ministry of Health and the Consul of Experts on Thursday will convene representatives of these sectors to explain the measures.

Minister of Health Vladimir Lengvarsky He added that from the end of February, the operating hours of the services will be extended by two hours, and will be open from five in the morning until midnight.

The second phase of the release will start on March 28, when capacity restrictions will be lifted, opening hours will be lifted and the obligation to wear a respirator or drape.

“We expect to return to life before the pandemic after that date,” Heger said, adding that it would be everyone’s responsibility to protect themselves from the covid. He reminded that vaccine is the most proven way to protect and can be vaccinated by anyone who wants to.
