PARIS – Footballers of Paris Germain defeated Real Madrid 1-0 with Kylian Mbappé’s goal from the 90th + 4 minutes and thus approached the advancement to the quarterfinals of the Champions League 2021/2022. In the hit of the eight-final program, the home Parisians had more of the game.
In the 18th minute, Mbappé escaped Real’s defense and the crowded Carvajal only hit Courtois. After a subsequent corner kick, the Belgian goalkeeper had another job when he covered Danilo Pereira’s spotted header. The “white ballet” had the only significant chance just before the change of sides, after the corner kick Casemiro aimed his head at the side.

The Paris club also set the tone in the second half. In the 50th minute, Mbappe managed to finish in the crowded 16 and Courtois had to excel again. But that wasn’t his hottest moment yet. She came after an hour of play. Carvajal did not catch up with Mbappe and managed to stop the Frenchman at sixteen only with a foul. The ball was kicked out of play. Lionel Messi put the ball on a plate for him and instead of hitting it with his right foot it cannoned of his left shin wide of the goal. However, the Parisians still go to Madrid with a lead, Mbappé “pushed” through the defense of the guests in the last action of the duel and sent the ball to the post uncompromisingly.
