Ukrainian websites hit by cyber attack: Banks and the Ministry of Defense are among them, harsh words towards Russia – Topky

Ukraine’s Cybersecurity Center, under the Ministry of Culture, has not said who is behind the attack. However, in its announcement, it “pointed its finger” at Russia, writes Reuters. “It is possible that the aggressor used the tactic of small dirty tricks, because the plans for a large-scale aggression do not work for him.” the center added.

The cyber attack also affected the website of the Ukrainian armed forces, the Unian news agency reported. The Department of Defense has announced on Twitter that it is working to restore access to the sites. Ukrainian sites have been affected by computer attacks in the past, and Kiev has accused Russia of them, but this has denied any involvement.

Oščadbank confirmed Tuesday’s cyber attack, saying that it caused a slowdown in some of its systems. The Ukrainian Center for Cybersecurity informed that Privatbanka’s clients also had problems with payments and the banking application. The bank itself has not yet commented on the situation, Reuters said.
