Éric Zemmour sounds a violent charge against Valérie Pécresse – The HuffPost

POLITICS – Fourteen. This is the number of times the candidate Eric Zemmour pronounced the name of Valerie Pécresse this Saturday, February 12. At a meeting in Saulieu in Burgundy, the founder of Reconquête! devoted a large part of his speech to knocking out candidate LR in the presidential election. A way for the far-right candidate to address the electorate of Christian Jacob’s party, which he is eyeing after registering many rallies came from national rally.

Castigating his desire to create a “youth bank” to facilitate access to studies, Éric Zemmour mocked this “bank of the right to failure” which, according to him, consists in saying “do anything, it is the taxpayer who pays”. Still on the economic front, the former journalist was ironic about the change in strategy made by Valérie Pécresse on wage increases. “If it backs down before the Medef, who can believe that it will stand up to the thugs?” asked Éric Zemmour, attacking his desire to create 500,000 housing units further.

“It will cover the country with social housing, and as it announces that it wants to break up the ghettos to distribute the populations of the suburbs, it will make each village a miniature nine-three, and there will be in France as many lawless areas as there are bell towers”, he continued – a bit alarmist – when he precisely placed rurality and the terroir at the center of his intervention.

“No, Valérie Pécresse is not on the right”, insisted the one who dreams of bringing together the RN and LR electorates. “I say to those who want to vote Pécresse hoping to have a centrist Zemmour, a ‘soft’ Zemmour, a ‘light’ Zemmour, a filtered, caulked, sifted Zemmour: with Valérie Pécresse, you will not have Zemmour. You will not even have half of Zemmour”, he got carried away, addressing the “lucid Republicans” whom he invites to come and swell the ranks of Reconquest!.

Takeover bid and “hidden vote”

“Recognize that the center-right of Valérie Pécresse will not be better than the center-left of Emmanuel Macron. It will be the same cowardice, the same zigzags, the same hypocrisy, the same abandonment of all the principles”, he hammered, summing it all up in this formula: “Macron against Pécresse, it’s Big Brother against Big Sister ”. A violent charge which is part of the strategy adopted by Éric Zemmour, who claims to be from the “true right” and aims to capture the electorate of François Fillon.

Hence the interest for the far-right candidate to pass off his rival LR for a centrist close to Emmanuel Macron. The candidate’s entourage is even betting on a “hidden vote” on the right that would escape the radars of pollsters. What opinion research experts doubt, since polls are now done on the Internet. “It’s hard to imagine that an interviewee in front of his tablet or his smartphone is lying to himself and minimizing a Zemmour vote”, explained the general manager of Ifop, Frédéric Dabi, on European 1.

Be that as it may, Éric Zemmour’s takeover attempt on the LR electorate, which we observe also on social networks, is very real. Valérie Pécresse’s response is expected this Sunday at the Zenith in Paris.
