Victoires de la musique 2022: alongside his father, Thomas Dutronc talks about his mother, Françoise Hardy

On the Victoires de la Musique set this Friday, February 11, Thomas Dutronc honored his father, Jacques Dutronc. On stage, he also mentioned his mother, Françoise Hardy.

The sequence moved the viewers. This Friday, February 11, Thomas Dutronc presented with great emotion a Victoire de la musique d’honneur to his father. On the stage, the singer made a magnificent statement to the one who left Corsica, where he lives almost reclusive, the time of an evening. “I’m not going to say my father this hero because he’s not a firefighter. But I can say ‘my father this number’ because people like him there will never be others, never two, the mold is broken”, launched Thomas Dutronc, very moved, and proud of his dad: “Proud to be your son and so, so happy to soon be going on tour with you. (…) We’re going to enjoy it because your music rocks and because people love you very very much”. At the Victoires de la Musique, he also quickly mentioned his mother, Françoise Hardy. “And mom and I, by the way, we love you even more”he concluded, before playing with his father several of his titles.

A tender confidence. Especially since Françoise Hardy suffers a lot. Suffering from cancer of the pharynx, the singer “not well, she’s in trouble”, as Jean-Marie Périer told Jordan de Luxe. Very discreet, the icon of the 1960s came out of silence last December in the columns of the Sunday newspaper. She confided while the impact that the coronavirus pandemic had had on her daily life and her health. “It has not changed my way of life since, because of the side effects of 45 radiotherapies that have gone through my head and of immunotherapy, I have been living in confinement for three years”, she declared before indicating that the epidemic had all the same had psychological consequences on her.

François Hardy suffers from “respiratory distress, coughing fits, obstruction”

“For me, who has always been an anxious person, the pandemic has greatly increased my anxieties for the future of the world in general, that of those I love in particular”, confided Françoise Hardy, who also pushed a big rant against the unvaccinated. At 78, the singer is battling the terrible side effects of her cancer treatment. “I have no more saliva, and neither my nasal passages nor my deaf left ear are irrigated normally, she described to L’Obs. Among other things, respiratory distress, coughing spells, obstructions and nasal bleeding occur non-stop without warning.” Fighting, Françoise Hardy can obviously count on the presence of her son Thomas Dutronc, but also of Jacques Dutronc, even if they have been separated for many years.
