Before leaving for Moscow, Macron underwent a PCR test and, upon arrival in Russia, an antigen test, which was performed by his personal physician. “The Russians have told us that Putin must be isolated from the outside world and that the measures in the event of a meeting with him are very strict.” said one of the members of the French delegation.

But not every politician fears that the Russians will misuse his DNA. Putin received Kazakhstan’s President Kasyma-Zhomart Tokajev on Thursday. The two heads of state shook hands and sat close to each other. The giant table from Monday’s meeting was no longer needed. At the beginning of February, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who expressed admiration for the size of Putin’s table, took the same place as Macron. “I’ve never sat at such a long table in my life,” he said.
