Germany: knife attack kills three and injures several

Long minutes of horror in Würzburg. Several people were killed and others injured in an assault in the southern German city, local police said on Twitter, with media reporting a knife attack.

The attacker was arrested, said the police ensuring that there was no danger for the population. She gave no details on the aggressor’s motives.

According to the daily Bild, which does not quote its sources, at least three people were killed and six injured in the knife attack by a man who attacked passers-by in the Bavarian town.

He was then subdued by a shot in the legs of the police, according to the newspaper.

Police tweeted that there was no clue about another possible assailant.

A large police deployment is underway in the city center.
