UPC will increase the price of the Internet for some clients. One to two euros a month – Živé.sk

UPC will increase the price of the Internet for thousands of clients as of March 1. He says that rising costs, including energy, can be the source of the price increase.

“Roughly 15,000 UPC customers who use UPC Internet services will receive a letter or email these days informing them that their price will be adjusted as of March 1. Depending on which specific campaign they have used so far, the price for the majority of customers will be adjusted in the range of 1 to 2 euros, but in some cases it may be a little less or a little more, “explains a spokesman for Živé.sk UPC Jaroslav Kolár.

Apparently he has to approach him

The price change only applies to internet services so far. The price for television services, landlines and equipment does not change in any way. UPC describes that it is aware that during this period, the Internet connection is crucial for working from home or teaching online.

“As in the case of other operators, the reason for the price adjustment is the rising rate of inflation associated with a significant rise in energy prices, and the overall rise in prices of services and goods. In order for us to continue to provide quality services despite rising inflation and the growth of all input costs, our prices are changing for some customers, “said Kolár.

If the customer does not agree with the change and has contractually bound services for some time, he can withdraw from the contract without penalties.

It does not exclude surface price increases

UPC suggests that this may not be the last price tag rewriting this year. Although it does not currently plan to increase prices in general, it may be adopted during the year.

“We cannot rule out that during the year there will be a correction in prices for services provided (including TV services) due to a rapid increase in all input costs shaping and affecting the final price of services and products – especially a jump in payments for TV content, for some broadcasters a few tens of cents, “adds a UPC representative.

According to Živé.sk, these are mainly significantly higher fees for the distribution of Markízy and JOJ stations.

Several telecommunications operators for Živé.sk in recent weeksthat they will have to respond to higher charges for broadcasters or more expensive energy.

O2 already announced an increase in mobile services and fixed internet. If clients use an electronic invoice, they have activated digital messages in My O2 and pay invoices online, gained in the rise in summer 2020 the original price of the services. That is changing from next month – all these clients will pay one euro more per month.

Watching TV from next month will increase the price of major packages about 1.5 euros per month for new and existing clients.
