They are to release the convicted Bašternák from prison today – SME.sk

BRATISLAVA. Convicted businessman Ladislav Bašternák is conditionally free. The senate of the Regional Court in Trenčín decided on this at its Wednesday closed session. The JOJ noviny.sk television portal was the first to inform about it.

The Regional Court upheld the District Court’s resolution Trenčín. The decision is valid.

“By a resolution of 15 November 2021, the Trenčín District Court ruled that he would release the convicted person on parole, set him a probationary period of 30 months and at the same time ordered 12-month probation supervision,” added Roman Tarabus, a spokesman for the Trenčín Regional Court.

He added that during the probation period he has been conditionally released from leaving Slovakia, and compliance with this ban will be checked by technical means.

Bašternák was supposed to be according to the original judgment in prison until 15 March 2024.
