Uniform rules have been set by the European Commission.
The European Union’s digital Covid card will be valid for nine months from 1 February. The restriction will apply when traveling and also within Slovak rules.
By giving a booster third dose of the vaccine, the validity will be automatically extended for another period. Uniform rules have been set by the European Commission. TASR was informed about this by the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Health (MZ) SR Zuzana Eliášová.
According to Eliáš, the validity of nine months is calculated from the administration of the second dose of the two-dose vaccine and the administration of the single-dose vaccine. He claims that the person will not be considered vaccinated after nine months. “After the card expires, the person will be in the basic regime, as if they had not been vaccinated. The solution is to apply a booster dose, “said the spokeswoman.
The change in the validity of the Covid card is incorporated into the decrees by the Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic. According to Eliáš, the validity of nine months is already stated in the new decree on the isolation of positive persons and the quarantine of close contacts.
The Ministry of Health recalls that after vaccination and overcoming Covid-19, it is necessary to apply for a document. It is sent automatically if the person has set up automatic sending. It is necessary to apply for a digital card electronically via the website korona.gov.sk or the National Center for Health Information.
