Five people were transferred to hospital, including three children, after a double-decker bus crashed into a shop in north east London. This was reported by the BBC citing the metropolitan police, according to which the incident took place this morning in Selwyn Avenue, Highams Park. The London Ambulance Service explained that 14 other people were treated at the crash site near Highams Park Overground station, but did not need hospital treatment. Citing a witness, the BBC explained that the bus driver was released thanks to the intervention of the fire brigade. London Mayor Sadiq Khan spoke of a “terrible accident” expressing closeness to the people involved.
