Actress Evan Rachel Wood has accused musician Marilyn Manson of rape. He allegedly did this during the shooting of the video for his song Heart-Shaped Glasses from 2007, he writes. The Guardian.
Evan revealed this information in her new film Phoenix Rising. It is a documentary that maps her life and career. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022. The actress said that Manson actually raped her during a simulated sex scene.
“I never agreed,” she said. She was said to be under the influence of alcohol during the filming. As she describes, she was barely conscious, so she couldn’t take action against Manson’s rape.
The Guardian contacted representatives of Marilyn Manson, born Brian Warner. Wood added that she had never been a part of such unprofessional filming. “It was a complete mess, I didn’t feel safe at all. Nobody cared about me during the filming, “ says the actress.
“I didn’t know how to defend myself and say no, because I was always kept from asking questions and doing things.” Manson’s rape made her feel disgusted. She described the whole negative experience as a commercial sexual act under a false pretext. “I was basically raped right in front of the camera,” adds.
Later, Manson allegedly gave her clear instructions on how to describe the entire recording to the press. “I should have told people it was a beautiful romance.” He added that she was afraid to take any action that might upset Manson. “This video was just the beginning of a violence that only escalated during the relationship.”
Evan Rachel Wood is just one of many women who have accused Manson of sexual and physical violence. It is said that this often went into torture. Other women include Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco.
However, Manson denied all allegations. He called them a distorted reality. He faces up to four lawsuits for sexual assault, personal injury and harassment, as well as domestic violence investigations. Police raided his home in November. During that time, she obtained several possible pieces of evidence.
After Vanity Fair published an article detailing the first of these allegations in February 2021, Manson was abandoned by his record company Loma Vista. Manson received support from rapper Kanye West.
Phoenix Rising, an Oscar-nominated film by director Amy Berg, will air on HBO in the US in March.
