BRATISLAVA – Over the last weekend, MMA fans have literally enjoyed a wide range of quality duels at UFC 270, defeating his former teammate Cyril Gane in points in the main match at the expected gala and defended the heavyweight champion’s belt. Before a demanding duel, the champion also solved less pleasant worries.
Prior to the title match, which took place on January 22, 2022, the media debated the topic of Ngannou and his potential boxing match with Jake Paul. After the match, Ngannou was to confirm that the UFC had threatened him and his agent with a lawsuit for discussions on the aforementioned boxing duel with Nakis Bidarian, Jake Paul’s business partner. “I have learned that my agent Marquel Martin wants to be sued by the UFC,” stated Ngannou by MMA Junkie.
The aforementioned Nakis Bidarian is a former UFC CFO who decided to work with Jake Paul on his own project. “I don’t know Bidarian. If you put him in front of me, I wouldn’t know who he is. Secondly, he’s not a promoter. It’s not like I can’t have a dialogue with someone about boxing. I talk to people all the time about boxing.” the champion continued.
Ngannou and the UFC definitely have further negotiations ahead of them, as Francis wants to have a condition in the contract with the American organization that will allow him to participate in a boxing duel within the contractual period with the UFC. “I don’t think the current UFC treats me well. It costs us all a lot to do this job, and that’s why I expect to get a fair deal and a contract.” finished Ngannou, who confirmed that he did not even rule out leaving the organization if he was not allowed to box.
