On Monday, for the second time in the past week, a record fell in the daily number of new cases of coronavirus in the Czech Republic.
There have been 30,350 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country, which is half as many as a week ago and the most per day since the start of the epidemic. This follows from the data on the website of the local Ministry of Health. The original record was on January 18, when 28,494 infected.
Despite a record increase in cases, the number of hospitalized patients continued to decline on Monday compared to the same day last week. There were 1,695 people in the hospitals with Covid-19, seven percent less than the previous Monday. Even more significant was the reduction in the number of seriously ill people, by almost a third to 207.
