Fabien Roussel unveils a program focused on work and purchasing power
He wants to be the candidate of “the France of happy days”. Fabien Roussel unveiled, Monday, January 24, from the headquarters of the French Communist Party, his 180 proposals two and a half months before the first round of the presidential election: minimum wage at 1,500 euros net, 500,000 more jobs in public services , student income from 850 euros, nationalization of EDF, tripling of wealth tax…
In his 124-page program book, “France on happy days”, a tribute to that of the National Council of Resistance, the communist candidate focused his proposals on work and purchasing power. “There are fed up with a France that promises austerity, savings”launched Mr. Roussel during his press conference on Monday morning, wanting “to give hope to those who no longer believe in it”.
Concerning ecology, Fabien Roussel assumes a different line from La France insoumise and especially from Europe Ecologie-Les Verts. If he defends the free urban public transport and the reopening of small train lines, the communist candidate is aimed at motorists: free driving license before the age of 25, bonus for conversion to less polluting vehicles, but also reduction of the fuel prices by reducing VAT to 5.5%.
To achieve carbon neutrality by 2040-2050, it plans in its program a “strong growth in electricity production, by investing in renewable energies (…) and in nuclear electricity with the construction of at least six additional EPRs”. Since the withdrawal of Arnaud Montebourg, he is now the only left to defend the construction of power stations.
