In the Czech Republic, they recorded the most new cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic in the last day, more than 28,000. The seven-day incidence rate has risen sharply, while the number of hospitalizations with covid continues to decline.
The Ministry of Health also registers 2,028 cases of re-infection, which, however, are not included in the above-mentioned balance.
The daily numbers of new covid cases are forecast to reach up to 50,000 at the end of January due to the omicron.
The seven-day incidence, ie the number of infected people per 100,000 inhabitants, rose to the level of 950, which is 151 more than on Tuesday. The worst situation is still in the capital Prague, where the incidence reaches 1,819 infected per 100,000 inhabitants.
On Tuesday, 1,635 patients needed hospital care, 252 of whom were in serious condition – both indicators continue to decline. Last year, at the turn of November and December, when more than 20,000 people were infected every day, more than 7,000 people were hospitalized.
