Norway: ten years after the carnage of Utoya, Anders Behring Breivik calls for his release

The general opinion is that his request has no chance of succeeding. Lfar-right terrorist Anders Behring Breivik pleads, Tuesday, January 18, for his release. For security reasons, the procedure was relocated to the gymnasium of Skien prison where the man who was sentenced in 2012 to 21 years in prison is imprisoned.

On July 22, 2011, Anders Behring Breivik first detonated a bomb near government headquarters in Oslo, killing eight, then killed 69 others, mostly teenagers, when he opened fire on a Labor Youth summer camp on the island of Utoya.

The killer, now 42, accused his victims of making the bed of multiculturalism. “As in any other rule of law, a convict has the right to apply for parole and Breivik has decided to make use of this right”, his lawyer told AFP. The families of the victims regret that this request for parole serves as a political forum.
