The new Ford Mondeo is already being tested on the streets – Podkapotou.sk

The current generation Ford Mondeo has been experiencing production for the last few months.

Ford in the US some time ago announced that it is ending with sedans and will focus on cross vehicles and SUV models. It has higher margins there and it is also easier to integrate large batteries in the chassis.

But not all day is over, neither in the US nor in Europe. The successor to the Fusion / Mondeo model has been talked about for a long time, now the new car is driving on roads in the home country of the blue oval. Photos posted by the server motor1.com

But the truth is that this car has China rather than the US registered in its birth certificate. It looks almost the same as Mondeo from China, which you saw on Podkapotou.sk a few months ago and which is in the cover photo.

This new car follows in the footsteps of a vehicle from faraway China and makes the sedan / liftback / station wagon a crossover. We do not yet know whether the liftback crossover version will also reach us in the EU, or whether it will come to us in the more popular form of a plastic-coated station wagon. We’ll find out soon, because the days of today’s Mondea are getting shorter and the last cars are coming off the production line in March.

The replacement will provide a higher ground clearance, a higher seat, but also graceful sedan / liftback body shapes. Something like Volvo’s S60 Cross Country. He can also pack a larger (European) suitcase in the form of a station wagon. One practical side gets a lot of new points, along with space for the aforementioned electrification and hybridization in the vehicle chassis. Whether, in addition to the practical side, Mondeo also gets points in the design, but I prefer to keep quiet about it and leave the decision to you.

In the EU, we can expect a Mondeo with a hybrid, a plug-in hybrid and, I guess, an electric drive. In that case, he will do moderate sparring on a new electric car called the Mustang Mach. You can find photos from the testing in the gallery.
