It was really blowing in Slovakia today. The northern part of the country is covered in storms and heavy snow. Strong winds blow in other parts of the country. Trees fall on the roads due to extreme weather. Meteorologists have issued a warning that is valid until tonight.

The roads are still passable, but you’d better consider driving – the situation can get worse.

“The snowfall is getting heavier, the wind is very strong, so the roads in which there are no trees are blowing. The third class road between Štrba and Šuňava in the district of Poprad will probably not be passable soon, because it is blowing hard there and it will not be able to keep it in our power, “ describes the situation by the director of the Road Administration and Maintenance of the Prešov self-governing region.

Drivers also report problems on Spišská Magura, on Plavnický Hill or in the High Tatras. There is very poor visibility on the roads, they are slippery and it blows them.

“The section from the Šturec mountain pass behind Dolný Harmanec in the direction of Banská Bystrica is also impassable, a tree fell on the road there. The fallen tree makes it impossible to cross even on the main road near Staré Hory, “ informs Green Wave RTVS.

According to her information, the fallen tree is also on the route Trnava – Červeník at the turn to Žlkovka, the section can be crossed alternately. There is also a strong gust of wind in Bratislava, drivers draw attention to it especially on bridges and overpasses. Paradoxically, a rainbow was also seen in Bratislava during the day today.
