God of War: playing on PC with the Xbox controller is “awesome” says Matt DeWald – Xboxygen

Carrying out a port is never easy, even more so when it comes to a title like God of War. However, the Jetpack Interactive studio has achieved a great feat since Sony’s exclusivity is playable with an Xbox controller.

A port that everyone was waiting for

After a great adventure on Playstation 4 and Playstation 5, God of War (2018) started a new chapter in its history on PC since January 14th. Suffice to say that Sony’s exclusivity is very young on this platform and yet Kratos has allowed PlayStation to achieve the best start in its history on PC.

Before it, titles like Horizon Zero Dawn or Death Stranding have experienced the same treatment, but it must be recognized that the port of God of War is undoubtedly the one that arouses the most positive reactions from players. Its gameplay and its realism are particularly highlighted, but not only. As everyone knows, our PCs are able to break down several barriers in the world of video games and the one crossed by God of War is quite funny.

The satisfaction of a job well done

Matt DeWald (producer at Jetpack Interactive) commented on how great it was to be able to play the game with an Xbox controller. In remarks reported by the site GameInformer, he explains :

It’s awesome […], we have no problem with that. You can even use a Switch controller. Of course, you can use any third-party controller. We tried to offer as many options as possible, because why should we limit the number of players who could enjoy the game?

A laudable initiative that we thought was important to underline, as it will probably not block many people from launching headlong into history, while impatiently awaiting God of War: Ragnarök.
