The accused Nitra businessman was released from detention. On Sunday afternoon, this was decided by a judge for the preparatory proceedings of the Specialized Criminal Court (ŠTS) in Pezinok. The decision is not valid, the prosecutor has filed a complaint. The Supreme Court (NS) of the Slovak Republic will decide.

Norbert Bödő’s lawyer Marek Para informed about it. “NS SR will decide in a few days, we are going to prepare for this decision,” the lawyer noted. He says the reasons for his client’s release from detention are related to delays and non-compliance with deadlines. Bödör did not answer the journalists’ questions on the way to his lawyer’s car.

At the same time, she emphasized that the courts, which repeatedly ruled on the custody of the accused (ŠTS and NS SR), confirmed the justification of the conducted criminal prosecution, as well as the individual reasons for custody, even after the indictment was filed in the Dobytkár case.

“In other words, they confirmed the correctness and legality of the actions of NAKA investigators and ÚŠP prosecutors. (corruption in the Valčeky case) the court did not question the justification of the conducted criminal prosecution of the accused NB, ” added Tököly.

Private interrogation

The private interrogation began at nine. A decision on a motion to prosecute the accused Bödör should be made on Sunday afternoon. His lawyer, Marek Para, told the media. “I managed to consult with the client on Saturday, I processed the statement in writing. On Sunday, I took a brief look at the file, where there was nothing surprising and it confirmed my original statements. Therefore, I submitted the processed written statement to the court.” Para explained why the interrogation had taken so short.

The detention motion concerns the case of Valčeky and Judáš, respectively. Norbert Bödör is to be prosecuted for corruption. Para claims that his client already testified in this matter in January 2021 after he was charged in December 2020. “My client is innocent,” the lawyer declared. He talks about the purposefulness of the proceedings, as, in his words, in the past the prosecutor “Judas never argued in the follow-up case to support preventive or collusive detention”. The police responded to Par’s criticism that no action had been taken in this matter for several months, stating that the investigation was ongoing and that the lawyer’s allegations should be seen as part of the client’s defense.

Bödör faces two charges

The accused businessman was first released from custody on Thursday (January 13), where he was a Cattleman for the cause. He was detained by the National Criminal Agency (NAKA) in a few hours in connection with the Valčeky case. According to media reports, this concerns economic crime in connection with fictitious steel supplies. Bödör also faces two charges. The main hearing in the Cattle case was ordered by ŠTS, Banská Bystrica, on February 25. The indictment concerns 13 people. In December 2021, the ÚŠP prosecutor filed charges against 11 persons also in the Očistec case
