VIENNA. On Sunday, the Austrian government presented an amended proposal for mandatory legislation vaccination against covid disease.
According to the new plan, residents aged 18 and over will not have to be vaccinated, as the government originally intended. However, key aspects of the plan remain in the final version.

The Austrian authorities will first inform all households in writing of the new rules. From mid-March, the police will also check that people are vaccinated during routine checks.
People who are unable to provide proof of vaccination will be asked in writing to do so and will be fined € 600 if they do not submit the proof.
If the Austrian authorities conclude that progress on vaccination is insufficient, they will send a reminder to those who have not yet been vaccinated.
If that doesn’t work, they’ll be summoned to be vaccinated, and if they don’t show up, they’ll be fined. Fines can amount to € 3,600 per person.
