The first bond
The original film Dr. But directed by Terenc Young with Connery in the lead role, he received mixed reviews after his world premiere on October 5, 1962 in London. Bond’s fateful wife was portrayed by Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder. At the same time, two weeks before the start of filming, this role was not filled. Andress’s producers chose when they saw a photo of her then-husband, actor John Derek.
According to some sources, the photo was from the “Miss Wet T-shirt” competition and the actress was cast in this role without any audition. Ursula Andress was not very interested in acting at the time. Finally, thanks to her, this first bond was nominated for a Golden Globe and also the first to receive a globe. Andress got him in the category of the best newcomer. At the same time, the film earned the least of all Bonds, $ 59.5 million. Casino Royale had the greatest financial success at $ 490 million.
Connery’s fee was $ 100,000
While Connery earned $ 100,000 for her premiere of Bond, Andress received $ 6,000. The famous scene, in which Honey Ryder emerges from the sea and meets Bond, was filmed on Laughing Waters Beach on the grounds of a certain Minnie Simpson in Ocho Rios, St. Louis. Ann in Jamaica. Simpson was a big fan of Fleming’s stories about Agent 007. Interestingly, the title of the film was misinterpreted in some countries and in Japan, for example, they didn’t understand it as a name. So they showed the film there as “I don’t want a doctor”.
Sean Connery has played the famous agent six more times, specifically in the films Heart Greetings from Russia, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never. According to many critics as well as viewers, Connery’s portrayal of James Bond was the best.
Bond has been played by six actors so far
Although Bond was especially famous for the films themselves, we would find the very beginnings in the book. The character of the cult agent was invented by the writer Ian Fleming, and for the first time, Agent 007 appeared in the 1953 novel at Casino Royal. James Bond is not a real character, but it is no secret that Fleming was inspired by several real agents when writing. The first 15 films were based directly on Fleming’s books, as was Casino Royale.
The stories of the remaining films are used only by his characters. So far, 25 official films and two unofficial films have been made, but they do not belong in the classic saga (a parody at Casino Royale with David Niven and Never Talk to Connery). Agent 007 has so far been played by six actors: Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. However, a new face is expected for the production of another film, as Craig said goodbye to Agent 007 at the end of September 2021.
The author just wanted a common name
Fleming originally searched for the name “agent with permission to kill” in the list of the most common names because he wanted Agent 007 to be dominated by other advantages. He remembered the name of an ornithologist from whom he had read a book on bird watching in the wild. Ornithologist Bond learned that Fleming had lent his name to his agent over the years and was said to have been amused.
He was even so abducted by the election that he gave Fleming the full right to use his name for whatever purposes he considered important. The character of the secret agent himself is also not invented. James is the son of Scott Bond and Monique Delacroix with Swiss roots. Andrew worked for a weapons company and traveled with his family very often. James’ parents died when he was 11 years old.
After this incident, James grew up with his aunt in England. At the age of seventeen, he joined the Royal Navy. The Bond family’s motto was “One World Is Not Enough”, which eventually became the title for one of the films. Even the author of the character Fleming himself was a spy at the time and also worked as a personal assistant for Admiral John Godfrey, who later became the inspiration for the character M.
