5.8 magnitude earthquake shakes Peru

(CNN Spanish) – A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck Peru, south of the capital Lima, on Tuesday night, according to a preliminary report from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The epicenter of the earthquake was initially located 40 kilometers west southwest of the town of Mala and had a depth of 50.6 kilometers.

So far there is no damage report.
