SEVILLE – Saturday’s eight-final duel of the Spanish Cup in football between Betis Sevilla and FC Sevilla did not finish. The referee interrupted the city’s derby in the 39th minute, when after the equalizing goal of Betis at 1: 1, the player Joana Jordán hit the head of the object from the point of view. Arbiter later decided to end the duel early.
Betis fans were just celebrating an accurate hit by Nabil Fekir right in the corner when an object flew onto their field from their sector and hit Jordan. Holding his head, he fell on the lawn and was later taken to a local hospital for examinations.
Referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea sent the players of both teams to the booths and then stated in the minutes that the player was hit by a “hollow 50-centimeter PVC pole”. The case will be dealt with by the Spanish Football Federation, which has already condemned the incident in an official statement. Betis is in danger of being contumed and eliminated from the competition.

According to the AP, Betis’ substitute Victor Camarasa later accused rival coach Julen Lopetegui on the social network of urging his player to fall to the ground after the incident. “The disgraceful and unjustifiable act of someone who does not represent our fans,” Camarasa said on Twitter.
Bochornoso and injustible the action of anyone who does not represent our business. I hope that Joan Jordan is well, all of whom are escaped (including the 4th arbitrator) as an entrant to the “marriage and death of the soul”. pic.twitter.com/oT3m0CZAUp

“I hope Joan Jordan is okay, but we’ve all heard (even the assistant referee) how his coach told him to fall to the ground. I’m not saying Joan was pretending, I’m just explaining what was heard on the field.”

The Seville derby has a tense atmosphere every time, in 2007 Seville coach Juande Ramos lost consciousness when he was hit in the head by a bottle thrown on the lawn by one of Betis’ fans.
