Slovan Bratislava coach Vladimír Weiss st. at the beginning of winter training, he announced reinforcements to each formation.
“We want to embellish the team with players who fit in immediately. They should bring quality mainly in the offensive phase, but it can be said that we have one player selected in each formation. We are working on their transfers, ” he said.
The attack is to be strengthened by Ivan Šaponjič (24) from Atlética Madrid. According to their own exclusive information, several Serbian media write about the transfer as a done deal. ŠPORT.sk Slovan asked for a response.
The Serb has been working in the Spanish capital since the summer of 2019. He trains with offensive stars Luis Suárez, Antoine Griezmann and Joa Félix. He did not score in a total of five competitive matches for Atlético, he collected 111 minutes (2 matches and 4 minutes in the league). He spent the first half of last year in Cadiz, winning once in nine duels.
In the current year, coach Diego Simeone did not give him a minute, he sat on the bench four times. He only has a contract until the end of the season, Atlético has the last chance to monetize a 190-centimeter-high finisher. The specialized portal Transfermarkt estimates its market value at 800,000 euros, the same is true for Ezekiel Henty.
Šaponjič was only seventeen years old in the summer of 2015, when he contributed two goals to the title of world under-20 champion. Half a year later, he transferred from Partizan Belgrade (42/11) to Benfica Lisbon for three million euros.
