Mountain rescuers intervened on Saturday in two cases of falling tourists in the Little Cold Valley. According to Air-Transport Europe (ATE) spokeswoman Zuzana Hopjaková, one of them was tragic. The victim is a 29-year-old woman from Ukraine.

“Poprad air rescuers accepted a request for help to Mala Studena dolina this afternoon, where a 73-year-old tourist suffered a 100-meter fall and hit his head on a rock after a short period of unconsciousness. “She and the mountain rescuer were dropped off at the wound with the help of a deck winch.

During the stopover in Starý Smokovec, his treatment was supplemented and in a stabilized state he was airlifted to the Poprad hospital for further examination.

“After returning to the base, another call came from the same place. It was a 29-year-old tourist from Ukraine, who also slipped, but her fall was more than 300 meters long. After hitting the rocks, she remained unconscious. “After the doctor was discontinued, the woman underwent lay resuscitation with the witnesses present. Unfortunately, the injuries the young woman suffered were incompatible with life, and even the paramedic doctor did not help her,” Hopjaková added.
