The man’s identity is secret, but in Australia he is said to be known by the acronym MOQ. He received a medical certificate in December 2019, but the next day the Australian Medical Council received a notification of the allegations. His certification was therefore suspended for at least 15 months. The young man appealed against this decision in court. He was not charged with any crime, as the attacked woman no longer wanted to continue her testimony. The second student, who was also to be physically assaulted by MOQ, claimed that in 2019 he crawled into bed with her and began to pick her up while she slept.

He was not used to alcohol
The young doctor said during his defense that in the first case he was affected by excessive alcohol consumption. When he heard what he had done, he was shocked and horrified by his actions. He also mentioned a large amount of alcohol in his second student, but confessed to what he had done. In his defense, he explained to the court that he was not born in Australia and comes from a family with a conservative approach, where drinking alcohol is not tolerated. He appealed to suspend the attestation
The first student was severely emotionally affected, while the second suffered from mood swings after the incident, according to school psychologists. MOQ sought help from a psychologist, psychiatrist and anti-alcohol treatment, while throwing his actions at alcohol. He said that the suspension of the attestation was unnecessary, as he got his drink under control thanks to experts. However, the Medical Council emphasized that the suspension of its activities was necessary for the protection of public health.

According to the court, MOQ poses a serious risk of emotional and psychological harm to other colleagues, resp. patients. The Victoria Civil Administration suspended the regulation in December 2020 on the grounds that the MOQ continued to pursue its profession but was not in direct contact with patients. He was allowed to work this week, but must not come into contact with any patient during the operation. In addition, he must undergo training and be supervised by another doctor.
