In Occitania, the number of hospitalizations is not falling and contamination is constantly increasing. According to the latest bulletin from ARS Occitanie, the symbolic bar of 6,000 deaths has been crossed.
In Occitania, the level of hospitalizations is still at its highest. Even if the risk of severe form is lower with the Omicron variant, resulting in a slight drop in intensive care hospitalizations, the number of hospitalizations does not decrease and contaminations continue to increase. This Friday evening, 1945 hospitalizations are in progress (+60 in 3 days) including 378 in intensive care and critical care (-8 in 3 days). We also deplore 6,015 deaths in hospital (+55 in 3 days), the region thus crossing a symbolic bar.
“The number of people hospitalized in intensive care in the region remains extremely high, 93% of intensive care beds are occupied”, says ARS Occitanie in its latest bulletin. “47% of patients in intensive care are for COVID and nearly 9 out of 10 are unvaccinated. Of these patients, 55% are under 64 years old, 30% between 64 and 74 years old and 15% are over 75 years old”.
