Writer, dialogue writer, screenwriter and producer, Jean-Jacques Beineix was revealed to the general public from his first film in 1981, Diva. In 1992, he offered his last role to Yves Montand in IP 5 – The island of pachyderms. The actor dies before the end of filming after a heart attack. Jean-Jacques Beineix made his last feature film in 2001, Deadly Transfer, with Jean-Hugues Anglade and Hélène de Fougerolles, a critical and commercial failure. Author of several documentaries, he later tried his hand at the theater in 2015 by directing Kiki de Montparnasse, at the Lucernaire in Paris.
In 2020, Jean-Jacques Beineix published his first novel, Toboggan, a book about childhood, passing time and loneliness, an uncompromising reflection on the meaning of his life and the links between love and art.
