ZAUCHENSEE – German skier Kira Weidle achieved the fastest time in the first practice for Saturday’s World Cup downhill in Zauchensee, Austria. The second was the winner of the first three runs of the season at 15 hundredths of a second and the leader of the classification of the discipline Sofia Goggio from Italy, the third was the Swiss Lara Gutová-Behrami (+0.42). Slovak Petra Vlhová had the 35th best time, lagging behind Weidle by 3.51 seconds.

Vlhová, who secured a small globe for slalom in advance in second place in Schladming on Tuesday, is going through several competitions in speed disciplines before the Beijing Olympics. In Zauchensee, another training is scheduled for Friday. The descent itself is scheduled for Saturday at 10.45 am, on Sunday it will be 11.30 super-G.
