“We started on Monday, January 10, I have about 20 players available. Some have not yet arrived, Tigran Barseghjan as a new player had a problem with visas, Myenta Abena still had some health problems, he stayed in the Netherlands and arrives probably on Wednesday. Abena underwent some small surgery, but nothing serious.

Other players are available. Dávid Holman and Lucas Lovat also returned to full training after their injuries, and I am glad from this point of view. Unfortunately, Yuri Medvedev, who underwent surgery and has his convalescence lasting at least two or three months, has a serious eye injury. We’ll see how it goes. ”

“As for the new players, we worked with the club management on transfers for the whole holiday. As I have already announced, we want to embellish the team with players who can immediately fit into the team and should bring quality, especially in the offensive phase, but we can say that in each formation we have a selected player. We will see if we can get them to Slovan, we are working on it together. Not everything is closed in the staff yet, preparations have only just begun. The goal is to stabilize personnel. ”

Do you feel pressure in terms of possible team reinforcement?

“I wouldn’t even call it pressure, because it’s normal for Slovan to have the highest goals, and we have to do our best for it. We want to prepare well, stabilize the staff, strengthen ourselves according to what I mentioned. Of course, for players who are not in the imagination, whether mine or the club, we will deal with hosting or transfers, even if it is a difficult time, because no one basically buys and the winter transfers are not big. We will try to do it wisely to the satisfaction of us all, even if it is not easy. ”

What do you say to the training you complete first at home and then in Dubai?

“Two stages await us. The first is more or less fitness, but we work on the field. We do everything at home, where we have a new fantastic gym and excellent artificial grass on Kalinčiakova Street. We are in such a bubble on a short, good training camp in Bratislava in a pleasant hotel.

From there we go to the stadium, where we work all day, and in the evening we go back to the hotel. At the end of the first block, we will play a match with Podbrezová at home, then we will fly to Dubai, where we will have three duels. The general was supposed to be at the Austrie Vienna stadium, but due to the effects of the pandemic, the match was canceled, so we are looking for an opponent for the general in the spring. ”

Only Filip Lichý has left Slovan so far, why did you let the young midfielder visit Ružomberok?

“Filip Lichý is a talented boy and player who likes Slovan. He asked for a hosting, saying that he would very much like to play. I went out of his way to say that it would probably be difficult for him to fight his way into the basic line-up, even though I think he has the football to do it. He needs practice, so we allowed him to host in Ružomberok. He will definitely return to Slovan in the summer. ”

Do you plan to give the boys from Slovan’s youth teams a chance in the winter?

“Roman Čerepkai, a very talented football player who has been in Italy in the past, coaches with us. Not everything in life comes out, even the competition is different. He returned to Slovan, I saw him in a few matches for our twenty-one unit, where I really liked him. I’ll give him a chance in preparation, he’s our player, I believe he’ll show up. He is only 19 years old, he is a technical football player, he can help in the offensive phase. I will give him a chance, I believe that he will stay in Slovan and there will be benefits. ”

What would you wish the football fans for the new year?

“I wish everyone good health until the new year, which is paramount. We live a hard time in life and in football. I believe we will learn to live with it, and people will return to the stadium and football. This beautiful stadium needs people, the players also need spectators. I believe that it will be better in this respect than in the past. ”
