Biathlon World Cup: no podium for the French women in the Ruhpolding sprint, Elvira Oeberg emerges – franceinfo

The French biathlon team did not grab a podium, during the women’s sprint of Ruhpolding (7.5 km), Wednesday January 12. The leaders were there, as the race was won by Elvira Oeberg, with almost twenty seconds ahead of Marte Olsbu Roeiseland. The third place was acquired by Dorothea Wierer.

The French did not capitalize on their excellent weekend at Oberhof. Julia Simon, in particular, finished beyond 20th place, 1’23 “behind the lead. The Albertville biathlete was weighed down by three errors on the standing shot. Anaïs Bescond finished in seventh place, while Justine Braisaz-Bouchet collected a very good fifth place (10 seconds from the podium), signing the third time in skiing. Insufficient to appear on the podium, but promising, three weeks before the Olympic Games (February 4 to 20).

Special mention, too, for the young Paula Botet (21) who signed her first 10/10 in shooting in the World Cup.
